Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella reaffirmed the company’s commitment to collaborate with the Telangana government on various initiatives during a meeting with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, his Cabinet colleagues, and senior officials on Monday.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Nadella praised the Chief Minister’s vision to enhance skills and infrastructure, emphasizing that these two factors are crucial for positioning Hyderabad among the world’s top 50 cities for economic growth.

The delegation from Telangana, including IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies Uttam Kumar Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Special Chief Secretary for IT and Industries Jayesh Ranjan, and Special Secretary to the CM Ajith Reddy, briefed Nadella on the state’s focus on key technological areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI (Gen AI), and cloud technologies. They also requested Microsoft’s support in developing a robust tech ecosystem that would position Hyderabad as a global leader in the technology sector.

Nadella, who has overseen Microsoft’s expansion in Hyderabad, also acknowledged the company’s long-standing presence in the city, where it now employs around 10,000 people. Microsoft has further invested in the state, including a 600 MW data center.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed gratitude for Microsoft’s ongoing investments and its role in driving the state’s growth. He also outlined his plans for infrastructure development, including projects like the Regional Ring Road, new manufacturing clusters, and the creation of the Young India Skills University, which aims to build a talent pool ready for industry.

The meeting took place at Nadella’s residence in Banjara Hills, where his father-in-law, retired IAS officer K.R. Venugopal, welcomed the Chief Minister and his team.
